Vijayageetha was born on 1974 in Pondicherry and completed her schooling in Pondy. She worked in France for 20 years in various positions, before returning to settle down in Pondicherry in 2017. After having worked for 2 years at the French Institute of Pondicherry, Vijayageetha joined the Pondicherry Centre of the École française d’Extrême-Orient as a research assistant within the framework of the Dharma project. She is charge of helping with communication, valorisation, dissemination and organisation of workshops, as well as preparing data-sheets for the project-related database.
