ELLIOTT Tom

Tom is trained as an ancient Roman historian and a computer scientist. He is the originator of the “EpiDoc” customization of the Text Encoding Initiative (http://epidoc.sf.net), which is being used by the DHARMA project for the encoding of epigraphic texts.
He is also the Managing Editor of the Pleiades gazetteer of ancient places (https://pleiades.stoa.org). For ISAW, he directs these and other digital initiatives and extramural collaborations that advance its mission to study the economic, religious, political, and cultural connections between ancient civilizations.
For DHARMA, he advises the project directors on matters related to text encoding, geographic information, and data management.
