50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence, several French research centers (CEIAS, GIS Asie, EHESS, Inalco) have joined forces to organize a two-day symposium to highlight research in and on Bangladesh. Coline Lefrancq for DHARMA project will be present! The format will be hybrid.

Please note that there have been some changes to the program:

– The keynote speaker on the first day is Professor Dina Siddiqi (NYU) instead of Professor Samia Huq (she will still do her presentation online Wednesday) – the keynote speaker will introduce on: “Decolonizing Bangladesh studies”;

– The archaeologist Coline Lefrancq will do her presentation on Tuesday the 14th instead of the presentation of Raphael Voix;

– The historian Samuel Hubert (Shiv Nadar University – UMR LISST Cas) will do a presentation on “”East of the Delta: navigation in Bengal from the 16th to the 18th century and the different times in the history” on Wednesday the 15th instead of Coline Lefrancq.
